Instantly Save Loaded YouTube Videos

3 Weeks ago I started to press keys around my keyboard while I clicked on things, and I found a great way to save YouTube videos that is way better than just using the activity manager. The way to do it is to let your YouTube Video play as usual, but then once it is finished loading, just hold down the ⌘ Command as you click. It will save just as anything else would download.

Apparently this requires SafariStand which is a free and easy download that allows you do many other really cool things with Safari. The download is available for Leopard and Tiger.

This works better than going through the activity window and saving a video because you can watch the video as usual and then just save a copy of the loaded video from your cache into your downloads folder. You will not end up with incomplete videos this way either as you have no option to copy the video to your downloads folder until it is finished loading.

If you use the activity manager, you then have to wait for the video to download before you can watch it, unless you want to download the video as you also stream it, but that will consume more bandwidth and just slow things down.
