Here is a pretty simple and and inexpensive alternative to 3D signs. Basically you just have to print a design,carve some foam based on that design, primer it, and then paint it. Finally, glue it all together and hang it up. The best part about this is that because it is foam the sign generally remains pretty lightweight.
